Avoid Women’s Hair Loss With These Hair Care Tips

February 3, 2012 by TreadmillsCenter · Leave a Comment

Your genes, more than anything else, actually determine if you will lose your hair. The time when your hair loss occurs, however, can be influenced quite a bit by your hair care practices. Even if you come from a long line of family members who have suffered from women’s hair loss, you can put off your onset for as long as possible if you take good care of your hair and your scalp. The problem is, it can be hard to decide what to do with so many differing ideas on the subject. The following are some hair care tips that have worked well over the years to help women prevent hair loss.

Keep your hair moisturized. Avoid letting your hair become brittle through improper amounts of moisture. So be sure to regularly use a quality hair conditioner. For oily hair, forego the conditioner and instead use a good herbal rinse. If you use conditioner on oily hair it will just weigh it down and it won’t look or feel very good. It will also be easier to pull from the follicle because of its increased weight. You may want to talk to your hair stylist for an opinion. Take a moment every day when you are washing your hair to massage your scalp. Don’t massage too hard, and just use firm pressure with your fingertips. It’s always great to get a massage, so if you can have someone else do it, then that will be so much better. As you may know, the massage will stimulate circulation and promote the growth of hair. We all know a good massage is a great way to relax, and too much stress for too long can help to promote women’s hair loss.

Get your hair cut regularly by a qualified stylist. There is not enough evidence at this point to say that this will definitely keep your hair healthy. What everyone can agree upon is that it helps your hair look good. For anyone facing women’s hair loss, this is also important. Shouldn’t you make sure that your remaining hair looks as good as it can? Another reason for regular trims and haircuts is that your stylist may be able to identify the early signs of hair loss so that you can get in to see your doctor about it before it gets too out of control. This might enable you to avoid having it escalate into a serious concern! There are lots of reasons to practice proper hair care, even if you are not trying to prevent women’s hair loss. The simple truth is that good hair care leads to healthy hair and a healthy scalp. You are less likely to suffer from hair loss when your scalp is in optimal health. It’s worth your attention to make sure your scalp and hair are properly cared for. It isn’t that hard. The above tips are all quite simple and can be practiced without changing your schedule.

There Are Reasons For Your Hair Loss

December 11, 2011 by TreadmillsCenter · Leave a Comment

The problem of hair loss is very ordinary and common. It could be possibly a million things that contribute to your hair loss. Even though a majority of people are only concerned about hair loss because it affects their looks, not because they are worried about medical problems. Most hair loss is tied to your genes. This article will explore some of the causes for men and women to have thinning hair. By the way, if you are beginning to get up there in years, it’s a good idea to start checking out seniors insurance. Be sure to check out this article about life insurance for seniors, highly recommended.

There has been quite a bit of publicity about the use of anabolic steroids among athletes in recent years. These substances can give you more strength, higher muscle mass and more athletic capabilities in general. However, they tend to have side effects. For instance, the loss of your hair is one of the main side effects of anabolic steroids. Most of the media reports about steroids are done because of famous athletes. But, quite frankly, both older and younger people are using anabolic steroids as a means to get a “ripped” body. Anabolic steroids can make your testosterone levels go up. This includes the hormone DHT, which is a leading cause of hair loss. Losing hair, however, is actually one of the least of your potential problems when it comes to steroid use. You can experience mental problems along with problems with your heart and liver. So, there are many reasons to avoid them. Scalp infections are one possible cause of hair loss that you should be aware of. Ringworm, for example, is not really a worm but a fungus that can invade your scalp and cause hair loss. Although children tend to have it more, it can occur at any particular age. Tinea capitis is an additional fungal infection that can make people lose their hair by attacking the scalp. Anti-fungal medications can be used to treat the infections, however it is very important to get them sorted as soon as you can. These type of infections are contagious, so one way to avoid them is to practice good hygiene and never share items such as towels with others. If you belong to a gym, wear sandals rather than walking around the locker room in bare feet.

Rapid weight loss can cause hair loss. So, be certain that your diet has the right number of daily calories, which should not have anything to do with low calorie counts. People who lose their hair during bouts of rapid weight loss are known to suffer from a medical condition called Telogen effluvium. In addition to losing hair, these diets are not healthy. In this case, losing your hair is a way of your body saying that you are not healthy. Discuss it with a nutritionist, if you are serious about losing weight. Try doing this as opposed to putting money into the next best diet frenzy. Losing your hair is rather common but looking at the causes and finding a solution is the hard part. Everything is straightforward if everyone in your family has experienced hair loss by a certain age and the same happens to you. If, however, you have always had a healthy head of hair but it’s now starting to fall out then you need to ask your doctor why it is happening. Finding the cause of hair loss is the very first step to treating it. Last but not least, be sure to read this article about funeral insurance comparison tips.

Home Remedies For Hair Loss?

Hair loss is a massive fear for most people as time edges by. Seeing hair fall in the shower or noticing a bit more of the scalp when brushing is often enough to make someone panic completely, start sweating, and whip out the credit card for some hair restoration product that can cost more than you’d believe. Like anything, some expensive therapies can work well, and others just don’t work at all.

Products known to have some hair restoring benefits – such as Minoxidil – can be an expensive prospect, requiring multiple applications. They can also pose the threat of some irritating side effects.

There are some home preparations that are known to create a similar beneficial effect to the commercially available products – without risking irritation, itchy scalps, or further hair loss. Here’s a few you can try, before rushing to the pharmacist.

  1. Drink 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar each day for two weeks with your meals.
  2. Mix together olive oil, honey and cinnamon powder then massage it deep into your scalp and leave it for 25 minutes, 4 times per week.
  3. Rinse your hair with apple cider vinegar and sage tea preparations, after normal conditioning treatments.
  4. Drinking a mixture of lettuce and spinach juice (half a liter each day) has been known to promote hair regrowth.
  5. Listerine mouthwash, applied over the problem areas once a week has been said to work wonders.

Here is one fairly elaborate concoction that is well known in certain Latin American countries, and is also said to promote positive hair regrowth. First, you will need a light rum or Vodka (not for drinking!), castor oil, and jalapenos. Head into the kitchen and grab a ceramic cup of fair size, a strainer, a knife, a funnel, a measuring cup, a 3 inch in diameter piece of tin foil, a cutting board, and a clean and empty glass bottle.

The Prep:

  1. Cut the Jalapeno (one large or two small jalapenos) into small pieces
  2. Measure half cup of rum or Vodka.
  3. Place both the jalapenos and the alcohol in the ceramic cup.
  4. Cover the cup with the tin foil.
  5. Let the preparation sit for 72 hours.
  6. Use the funnel and strainer to add the jalapeno/rum liquid to the glass bottle.
  7. Add 2 or 3 tablespoons of castor oil.

That’s the process. I would advise labeling the bottle, in case someone is thirsty and makes the mistake of drinking it. Once you are finished preparing this concoction, shake it very well and massage it into the scalp, more on the affected or thinning areas. Do it every night for 4 weeks or so, at which point you should notice hair regrowth.

All these techniques and home remedies have been used and improved over the years, and a great many people swear by the efficiency of each method. It’s definitely worth a try, especially since none of the above therapies will cause scalp or hair damage.
